Starting Over

Starting over is not easy for anyone. Sometimes this means starting a new job or moving to a new state. Regardless of what starting over looks like for you, you are never alone — it is a part of life on this earth. From personal experience, when your website gets hacked and you don’t have a backup, starting over takes a lot of time and effort that may not have been planned. That being said, it may take a while to get my site back to the way that it was before. But who knows, maybe the new and improved Kreischer Design will be even better than before!

In light of my recent issues, I would encourage you to make sure that your information is secure. Change your passwords regularly on important sites (I know this is a pain, but you will spend less time doing this than trying to recover from being hacked). When you are making a new password, make it complex! Just changing a few characters to be unique can give your passwords the added strength that they need. And always make it something you remember, but not something that everyone who knows you could guess!

There are tons of tips on cyber security tips that I could give you, but I think I will end with updates. Always, always, always stay up-to-date with the software you are using on both your devices and software. Updates may take forever to download sometimes, but they are usually good for you. They often fix problems that were in the last version, but most importantly they are constantly updating their security measures based on what hackers are doing. Code is always evolving, so our security should be too.

Take care of what you have and guard yourself from hacking! Don’t make the same mistakes as me.
